Biography
Yulia Shikhova (creative pseudonym Julia Albert) was born in Novosibirsk in 1965. She received a degree in organic chemistry from Novosibirsk State University. She has been drawing since early childhood and began to study art professionally in 2019, completing numerous online and offline courses. She is currently an independent plein air landscape artist working primarily in oil and dry pastel, and has been a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia since 2022.
Her works are presented on the international platform ArtMajeur under the pseudonym Julia Albert, as well as on Instagram. She also runs her own creative channel on Telegram. The artist actively participates in offline exhibitions of various levels — from local and regional to international — both as part of art associations and with solo projects. In addition to her exhibition activities, she conducts master classes in pastel painting and drawing for both children and adults.
Yulia’s portfolio includes more than 150 original works, both individual pieces and series, many of which were created during plein air sessions in different regions of Russia and around the world.
Her exceptionally joyful personality and knowledge of sacred practices allow her to infuse her paintings with light and harmony — qualities that viewers often describe as giving her works a meditative and contemplative depth.
