Once I had to get into some office, which for some reason was located on the outskirts of Moscow, almost outside the city. It was possible to get to it through a vast wasteland, a completely untouched wilderness. A small river crossed it, there was a bridge over the river. Passing over the bridge, I looked at the gray-beige April landscape, stretching to the horizon, which was not yet ready to turn green.And accidentally looked down. Under the bare branches of the shrub, I saw foreheads and thick asses of puppies crawling around the mother, a mongrel bitch. Mom and kids in color were the same as the landscape, gray-beige. They were probably born here and, like bums, live on the banks of an unknown river. This mongrels. But there is no yard that would be their home. Looking at the swarming puppies, I suddenly experienced affection. Something told me that I see happy creatures. The man, having tamed the dogs, tore them out of the wild. And then, having built big cities, he no longer needed them. But they did not disappear. Who can hunt mongrel dogs on this wasteland? They are not allowed to die of hunger dumps metropolis?… "
