I dont live in this courtyard, but it holds a lot of significance for me. I dont remember a single summer without this courtyard. When I had friends here, we would sometimes sit in this courtyard near a dried-up fountain-pool, where instead of water there was already earth and grass. This courtyard has exactly 4 entrances, entering from each one is a separate pleasure, as this courtyard is located in the center of the city, especially where its noisy in the summer. You only have to walk through this or the opposite arch to find yourself in absolute silence and comfort. A small town within the city. Of course, there are cars in the courtyard, which associate you with the outside world, but that dried-up fountain is so surrounded by lilac trees that it very carefully creates an inner, homely coziness, even within this courtyard. There are even tunnel paths made of lilac bushes from two of the entrances. Not only is it very pleasant to walk through these tunnels, but when theyre also in bloom, the smell of the delicious flowers makes your head spin. I know many such courtyards in different cities - in Istanbul, Ankara, Moscow, Baku, Stockholm. But this courtyard is special - its green, well-isolated by trees, immediately opens up to the river and the center, a few steps away, in short, more homely. I love entering this courtyard from the embankment side, specifically through this arch in the picture. I once drew this arch from outside the courtyard, but the view from the inside is more impressive, capturing the inner atmosphere of this beautiful courtyard.
