I remember autumn days when I wandered alone through familiar places in the city, recalling both happy and sad days connected with these streets, parks, courtyards, and people. The fleeting passage of time, and with it the departure of people from our lives, depresses me terribly. I remember approaching my native embankment. The landscape and setting seemed ideal: the pleasant coolness of an autumn day without wind or rain, the soft autumn sun, and an intoxicating silence all around. For a long time, there was not a soul in sight. And for a moment, I felt as if the entire city, all this autumn beauty, had been abandoned, and I was left here completely alone. I placed my coffee cup on the railing. Its familiar, lived-in appearance, down to the smallest details, created an impression of old friendship, of loyalty. And then, amidst this atmosphere of abandoned autumn, which had driven me into melancholy, the sadness passed, and the melancholy thoughts retreated. I tried to combine these two contradictory and yet so close sensations in the painting. I think almost every Kemerovo resident has their own memories, feelings, and impressions associated with the embankment, and everyone will find something close, familiar, and relatable in my work...
