canvas/oil 35cm x 55cm 2024
The Charles Bridge in Prague connects two historical districts of the Czech capital – the Old Town (Stare Mesto) and the Lesser Town. It is one of the worlds masterpieces of Gothic architecture. The architect is Petr Parler, who also built the famous Prague Cathedral of St. Vitus. The first foundation stone of the bridge was laid by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV in 1357, on July 9 at 5:31 am. This date and time were specially chosen by astrologers: if you arrange these numbers one after the other (instead of July we put seven), you will get an ascending and then descending flow of odd numbers. Of course, the Charles Bridge, which is embedded in a truly magical moment, is simply obliged to stand until the end of time!
