From the history of the district, the uniqueness of Kolomna was given by the contingent living in it. In addition to the already mentioned artists (often they were actors with modest incomes, passionate about their creative activities and living here because of the proximity of the theater), poor officials, students and shipyard workers lived here, and therefore the area looked less rich and luxurious than the rest of St. Petersburg at that time.
