1 January, quiet evening

2026 came beautifully. A lot of fresh snow fell, which covered trees, houses, cars. We went out for a walk in the evening. It was a very quiet, cozy evening. People still seemed to be recovering from the New Years Eve celebrations, and the streets were deserted. Look up and you can see a tangle of tree branches covered with snow. Through this continuous network of black and white strokes, the gray-blue sky and the upper floors of the houses shine through. There is a special pleasure in walking along the path and looking up, observing this magnificent tangle of branches, this contrasting combination of the whiteness of the snow, the blackness of the branches and the gray sky slightly blurred by clouds. The painting can be hung on the wall without a frame, the image continues at the ends.
