The evening lights. The temple of Archangel Michael in Orel

The painting depicts an evening view of the famous Church in the city of Orel. In front of the altar there is a multi-figure monument dedicated to the writer Leskov and the heroes of his works. Next to the Church is the building of the classical school, where he studied Leskov. In 2011, the picture took 1st place in the category " Painting. Landscape " at the International competition and exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of N. S.Leskova (Moscow-Orel). The painting reflects the writers complex attitude to the modern Church and Leskovs vision of the culture of Christianity by artistic and symbolic means.
