Alexey V. Komov

Painter. Plein air artist.
Education: studied at the painting Department of the Orel art school, Orel (1986-1990), then at the painting faculty of the Russian Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture, Moscow (1990-1992).
Member of the Union of artists of Russia since 2010. Participant of regional, national and international art exhibitions, as well as creative plein-airs.

Alexey Komov continues in his works the best traditions of Russian realistic landscape based on plein-air practice. Also, the author writes in the style of impressionism and expressionism in the manner of one step (Alla prima) and incompleteness (non-finito), in the textured brushstroke technique of oil painting.
The painter works in various genres: still life, landscape, genre painting.

The main feature of the master's work and its high professional component is the painting in the format outdoors from nature, not in the Studio. The artist is able to work outside the Studio in the open air, not only in summer but also in winter, not only in the daytime, but also at night with a special highlight palette. Master travels a lot in Russia and abroad. The main task of the master is the opportunity to convey the unique range of each natural landscape. That is why each picture of the master has its own coloristic construction, different from others.

At the same time, the work of Alexey Komov does not fully fit into the tradition of impressionism, as it is filled with deep meaning through the introduction of a number of symbols that pass into sign systems. Many landscapes of the master go beyond a simple plein air sketch-impressions from nature and are at the complex junction of landscape and genre paintings. The charm of Russian nature and the quiet tenderness of what he saw - that's what inspires the artist.
