In the spring of 1918, the house near Ipatiev was requisitioned at the direction of the Ural Soviet for accommodating the family of Nicholas II, brought by decision of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee to Yekaterinburg from Tobolsk. The Romanovs were placed in the house on April 30 and spent 78 days in it, after which they were executed in cold blood.
