Jean-Michel, thå Real Arlesien, from nature
Author: Dobrovolskaya Gayane

paper/acrylic 42cm x 30cm 2014
Portrait from life. I painted the restaurant "Caravelle", sitting on the parapet of the Rhone embankment. A nice man came up, short and thin. He showed interest in my work, said that he also likes to draw.. His face immediately terribly pleased me, and I asked him to pose after I finish the sketch. Agreed. He waited half an hour until I finished.. Then he sat astride the parapet, and I painted him - easily, as I sang the song! We spoke English. Jean-Michel told me that his grandmothers family has been living in Arles since the 13th century. And the grandfathers family from the 14th.
