The magnificent adventurer Savva Vladislavich Raguzinsky, who played a significant role in the development of the Russian economy in the 18th century, is famous for one more act.
In 1705, he gave Peter the Great two little moors, the sons of the Abyssinian prince, bought by him in Constantinople. One of them became the great-grandfather of Alexander Pushkin.
But if it had not occurred to Savva Raguzinsky such a thing, where would we then have taken "our everything"?
I had to hurry to get my work ready for the exhibition. And I see that the composition, and not only it, leaves much to be desired. I will assume that this is a sketch for a future painting.
