The monastery of Kuvedzin in the Serbian Vojvodina

Etude from nature. The architecture of the temple is very typical for Serbia, in every village there is such. Then I sketched a portrait of the hegumen, who was sitting just in the courtyard at the table, people approached him and talked. Everything is somehow friendly, home-like. When I was painting a portrait, one of the women, not a nun, but apparently serving at the monastery, with a kind face and voice, explained to others about me: "Russian sisters came to us." Unexpectedly for myself, I was so moved that I almost cried. The experiences of these were precious. When I remember the words: "Russian sisters", I feel warm in my heart, in the soul is tender emotion…
