Biography
My name is Irina Gross. I live and work in Moscow. Art has been a part of my life since childhood. I studied at an art school, and many years later, I returned to painting with a renewed sense of inspiration. I attended courses, workshops, and participated in plein airs, gradually finding my own creative voice.
At first, I painted with oil, but over time, I discovered pastels — a medium that has become my main tool. In my work, I often turn to mixed techniques, combining pastels with watercolor, acrylic,... This allows me to create deeper, more layered, and expressive images.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration. I am drawn to its tranquility, changing light, the movement of clouds, and the whisper of wind in the grass. When I am in nature — whether on a wide field, a forest trail, or by the water's edge — I feel like I am reconnecting with myself. Landscapes help me slow down, listen to my inner silence, and experience a sense of freedom and harmony. For me, nature is a source of strength, a place where I can recharge and replenish my energy. I aim to convey not just what I see on the canvas, but the sense of peace, inspiration, and delicate beauty that I feel in those moments.
Animal art holds a special place in my work. This genre allows me to explore the grace, character, and quiet presence of animals — both wild and domestic. Through these images, I seek to express the emotional bond between humans and the natural world, capturing the spirit and essence of living beings with warmth and sensitivity.
