Sunflowers

The painting "Sunflowers" is a graphic sheet created by the artist using the etching technique, printed on watercolor paper using an etching press. The etching is enhanced with watercolor underpainting.

The still life in this work is combined with a landscape. In a passenger train compartment, a bouquet of sunflowers, picked at a recent station, rests on a table, along with tea and sugar in cup holders labeled "Moscow." Views of our vast Russia, its landscapes familiar to everyone from childhood, flicker past the compartment window. Swallows soar in the sky, and, most likely, a leisurely, pleasant conversation is taking place. Summer, vacation, and relaxation are the motifs of this work.
