Biography

SAVART, also known as Alexey Smirnov, is a contemporary artist whose work combines elements of fine art and contemporary art. He creates amazing works of art that are distinguished by their aesthetics and arouse interest with their secret meanings and madness.

Although all art has its origins in cave paintings, it evolves and takes on various forms and styles. Oil painting is one of the most popular forms of art, where the artist strives to convey the beauty and realism of the object on canvas. However, over time, artists began to experiment with different materials and techniques, adding textures, collages and transforming real objects in their works. Alexey Smirnov, having also gone through this evolutionary path and having professional experience in working with polymer materials, applied his knowledge in painting. His paintings acquired a new sound, airiness and uniqueness. He developed his own unique style and volumetric technique.

He dates the beginning of his artistic activity back to his school years, when he attended a drawing club led by Osip Abramovich Sidlin, a student of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin himself, the founder of Leningrad nonconformism. An artist who is not limited by the framework of traditional education has the freedom to embody his ideas and vision in art. He can experiment with various materials, techniques and forms, creating unique and original works. His volumetric technique allows him to give his works depth and realism, which gives them strength and expressiveness.

A master with his own signature style differs from other artists. His works can be recognizable and unique, evoke various emotions and transport the viewer to another world. His work can be multifaceted and diverse, reflecting his inner world and his connection with the outside world.
