I have been professionally engaged in painting since 1992. To this day, I am engaged in my favorite work and creative activities. I am a member of the League of Samara Free Artists and the Union of Artists "PALITRA" in Samara. I am also a member of the unified register of authors and certified works "ARTREESTR".
My works are in private collections in many cities of Russia, as well as in foreign countries from Canada to Japan. I work in a realistic style and exclusively use oil paints on high-quality canvases. I create paintings in the genres of still life, landscape, portrait based on photographs, and royal-style collages, as well as in the fantasy genre. I have a great love for painting animals, particularly horses and noble birds. An article about me and my paintings can be found in the October issue of the cultural and educational magazine "ARTGABARIT" for 2013.
An excerpt from a critical article:
E.M. Samarskaya's paintings seem to be the simplest, most unpretentious, so to speak, mass-produced, even kitsch... All the motifs are painfully recognizable, and their clichéd nature is emphasized... But here's the catch! Perhaps I have absolutely no artistic taste or sense, and I'm sure I'll be criticized from all sides... but there's something about these paintings! It's like in literature: Bestuzhev-Marlinsky, who looks pale with his "Mulla-Nurs" and "Ammalat-Beks" compared to the Caucasian paintings by Lermontov and Tolstoy... But you can't dismiss him or erase him from literature! The same goes for these paintings: they exist, and they bring joy to the soul of an ordinary person, or even an extraordinary one...
