In 1988, I was sketching in pencil when I was walking with my little daughter, who was sleeping in a stroller. Then we lived in Ryazan.
Once we went to 1st Bezboznaya (Godless) street, which at that time was not even paved. Residents of wooden houses did not have water supply and sewerage systems in their houses, they took water from a pump in the middle of the street, and cooked food on kerosene stoves. However, the street seemed to me picturesque and poetic.
Now it looks different. The past construction boom instantly transformed the city. It has long been an ordinary city street, built up with modern residential buildings and shopping centers. And the inhabitants of wooden houses have long been relocated to more comfortable conditions.
And yet, and yet... The new streets look boring and monotonous, and I no longer want to draw them.
