Russian Spring

A young man and a girl in Russian national costumes seemed to have stepped off the catwalk of a fashion brand: posture, gaze, poses — everything gives them away as people of the XXI century. Their stylish detachment contrasts with the ethnic surroundings.

Its a postmodern game with cultural codes. The viewer reads both the ethnographic quotation and the glossy fleur of the characters.

This is a visual thesis about how modernity appropriates and recycles folklore. It is suitable for interiors where intellectual irony and visual paradoxes are appropriate.
