Road to Nilov

The ancient Russian monastery of Nilova pustin is surrounded on all sides by the waters of Lake Seliger. On the edge of the island around the arched entrance the shore is lined with red stones. A mound with a narrow path leads to the monastery. People come out from behind the mound from the thick thickets of branchy trees. Summer sunny day on Seliger.
