A summer evening in Uglich. View of the Epiphany Uglich Convent The monastery was founded in the XIV century by Princess Evdokia, the wife of Dmitry Donskoy. It was originally located in the Uglich Kremlin, in the northwestern part. In 1609, it was burned by the Poles and rebuilt in 1620-1629 with the participation of the mother of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov, the nun Marfa.
