Biography

Yulia Fedotova is a modern Russian artist from a small town in the Nizhny Novgorod region. She graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod College of Consumer Services with a specialization in Designer, then studied at the Dobrolyubov National State University at the Department of History and Theory of Fine Arts, based on the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
He works in the style of modern impressionism and realism, generalizing colors and shapes, making paintings more decorative.
In his artistic practice, he uses oil paints, golden enamel, and texture pastes. Her painting always has both translucent layers and a rich texture.
The artist's paintings are included in the collections of private collections in Russia, Europe and the USA.

I draw my inspiration from the world around us – people, animals, nature. In recent years, the theme of rural animals, landscapes, wildflowers and country bouquets has become especially popular.
Since 2023. I started working on a series of paintings depicting cows. This is not just an image of an animal, each cow in my paintings is a kind of character with its own charisma, character and personality. The names of the works often reflect a certain character ("Imagined", "Daring", "Queen", etc.).
In my works, I often generalize color, shape, I like to work with line and texture differences (from translucent strokes to thick, pasty). This makes the paintings technically more interesting, you want to look at them and touch them.
Since 2018, I have been participating in city exhibitions and fairs.
