Yans Sergey

Biography

Born May 12, 1982.
From early childhood, he was interested in painting and drawing. He also made pottery.
From 1998 to 2002, he studied at the Chelyabinsk Art College, in the Decorative and Applied Arts department.
A year before graduating, he held his first solo exhibition of paintings. During this time, he came up with the pseudonym Sergey Yans.
From 2003 to 2005, he lived in Krasnoyarsk, where he applied to the Krasnoyarsk Art Institute. He was not accepted.
In 2004, he held a solo exhibition in Krasnoyarsk.
In 2005, he returned to Chelyabinsk.
From 2006 to 2010, he studied at the Institute of Communication Technologies (computer graphics design). He spent the last two years of his studies living in Moscow.
In 2008, he moved to Moscow.
In Moscow, I worked in a ceramics workshop and a framing studio. I participated in joint exhibitions.

In 2010, at the invitation of a French gallery, I traveled to Paris, where I lived for a month and a half.

After returning from France, I returned to Chelyabinsk.

My paintings have been exhibited in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Krasnoyarsk.

I paint what I see and what surprises me. And what I feel and what resonates with me. The world around me, filtered through my perceptions and sensations, be it a realistic painting or an abstraction. Abstraction, or a fantastical painting, is a coded perception of the world. Something that cannot be directly expressed.
