Study № 1 from the series “Angle of View”

The painting is built on a tense dialogue between image, observation, and the artist’s inner state. The central motif of the work — an enlarged eye — becomes a symbol of total immersion in the act of observation, where the gaze ceases to be neutral and turns into an emotional experience. The oval format enhances the effect of a fragment, as if the viewer is intruding into a deeply personal space of perception.
The contrast of vivid yellow, blue, orange, and dark navy tones creates a sense of energy and inner movement. In this work, one can keenly feel the state of the artist, who is not merely looking at the world, but becomes the object of the viewer’s intense gaze.
