Evening in Mestia

This plein air study was created in 2024 in Svaneti — one of the most picturesque regions of Georgia. Mestia, the heart of this mountain land, is famous for its ancient stone houses and the iconic Svan towers that have stood for centuries as symbols of resilience and tradition. The painting shows the view from the window of a cozy guesthouse where we stayed. As the evening approached, the mountains disappeared into a delicate mist, the sky turned soft shades of lilac and blue, and snowy rooftops and bare trees caught the last highlights of light. The work captures the serene charm of a winter evening in the mountains — quiet, peaceful, and timeless. It will beautifully complement a living room, study, or alpine-style interior, bringing warmth, atmosphere, and the romance of travel into the space.
