Liberation

An epic scene unfolds on the canvas, steeped in the spirit of ancient paganism and desperate struggle for survival. At the center of the composition is an old man in white robes, his face lined with wrinkles like a map of the centuries lived. In his hand is a sturdy staff, which helps him move confidently forward. He points the way through the curling smoke. Behind him follow people, their faces express a mixture of fear, determination, and hope. They carry in their arms what is most precious – wooden idols of their Gods, saving them from the relentless flames. Before the old man, like a harbinger and guardian, a majestic eagle flies low. Its outstretched wings and sharp gaze speak of a connection to the heavens and that this bird is a faithful companion and guide to the wise old man. To the left and right, in the foreground, arrows lie – mute witnesses to the pursuit that forced this people to leave their homes. In the haze to the left, a skull with horns ominously peeks out, adding gloom to the picture and reminding of the deadly danger from which they are fleeing.

In the background, a fire rages. The flames consume everything in their path, painting the sky in orange and crimson hues. But in the foreground, where people walk, thick, suffocating smoke reigns, obscuring the horizon and creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and persistence. This is a picture not only about fleeing, but also about faith, about preserving ones roots, and about hope for salvation, even when the world around is engulfed in flames.
