The Octopus

In the mythology of the Ainu people and Shinto, there is a story about Akkorokamui—a giant red octopus.

He is worshipped as a minor kami (spirit). He is believed to possess the ability to regenerate, to heal illnesses and injuries, and to bestow knowledge.
