The Orloy project. Every hour a show begins on the Old Town Square in Prague. The chimes gather a crowd of tourists in front of the town hall. This is how the Orloy clock begins its work - the oldest astronomical clock in the world (year of creation 1410). In addition to the many possibilities of the two dials, the Orloy has a bright feature - moving figures. They (12 apostles) appear in two windows, replacing each other during the chimes.Above the stone sculpture of an angel is a figurine of a golden cockerel, which cries and flaps its wings at the end of the procession of the apostles. There are also sculptural figures on the sides of the dials. Each has its own symbolic meaning. The best masters of the Czech Republic worked on the creation of the Orloy.
The aim of the "Orloy" project is the authors attempt to share his impressions of a unique object of Czech history, art and culture, an attempt to solve both an artistic and a reconstructive task. The thing is that the figures of the apostles appear in deep window openings for a split second, rotating, and all this at a height of 10 meters. Plus - protection from pigeons covers a quarter of the niche.It turns out that the Czechs themselves did not see the apostles...
Thanks to complex preparatory work, the project took place.
