Biography
I was born in Leningrad in 1956. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Volgograd State University of Civil Engineering in 1980, specializing in painting, sculpture, composition, and classical drawing.
In 2000, I started my own architectural and design bureau, where worked on designing and renovating private homes, apartments, and commercial spaces with full interior design solutions. I am a member of the Union of Architects. In 2020, decided to leave my architectural career behind and fully dedicate myself to art.
Now I live in the countryside by a beautiful lake, surrounded by sunsets, open water, and blooming meadows. These natural scenes inspire my work and bring vibrant colors into my art.
I work mostly with acrylics. Even though I started using this material fairly recently, I’m amazed by its possibilities. It allows me to create everything from thick, textured strokes to soft, transparent layers, helping me bring my ideas to life. My paintings often start with small sketches that I develop further on canvas, adjusting and refining them as I go. My focus is on abstract art, and I love the freedom it gives me to explore and express my creativity.
My work has been strongly influenced by artists such as Kandinsky, Dalí, and Picasso. Many years of studying classical drawing have also left a significant mark on my artistic approach. For a long time, Anatomy for the Artist by Yeni Barchai was my favorite reference book. The combination of anatomical precision, graphic details, and expressive color is a key element of my unique style.
