Our dacha has a rather hilly area, and thanks to this, there is a very beautiful and lovely place nearby: a hill that turns into a cliff and goes down to the water itself. A spreading birch grows on the hill, to the left there is a willow, and from the height of the cliff there is a view of the distant opposite bank of the reservoir with a temple. But, most importantly, at the end of summer, fireweed blooms on the hill, adding a very beautiful lilac hue to the landscape.
I wanted to paint this view for a long time, but I could not get myself together until something finally drove me out of the house with an etude case, paints, a palette and a canvas in my hands. Having arrived at the place, I did not regret at all that I had made quite a long journey - it was about thirty-five minutes to walk. I saw this fiery sunset with dozens of clouds, the restless water in which there was not even a hint of reflection, the tall, trampled grass - and then I decided that next summer I would paint more than one picture here...
