Snow-white Ararat

Ararat is the highest mountain in the Armenian Highlands.
It is a symbol of Armenia, a sacred peak, which was worshiped by the peoples living in the surrounding regions. According to legend, it was to Ararat that the biblical Noah landed on his ark, saving his family and the animals inhabiting the earth from the global flood. The name Ararat comes from the Assyrian “Urartu” - that was the name of the state located here.
Watching the mountain from the height of the Cascade in Yerevan, I felt greatness and peace, as if time had stood still...
