Dargavs - city of the dead (Ossetia)

Each house is a family crypt, and there are ninety-six in total. According to legend, there lived a beauty who was brought back from an overseas campaign. All the men fell in love with her and began to fight. Other women decided to kill their rival out of jealousy. As soon as the beauty died, the earth began to “spit out” the dead. People had to find another way to bury their loved ones
The picture was created based on a real photo of a traveler, my friend. I wanted to use the plot, since Ossetia is the homeland of my maternal ancestors, I am 1/8 Ossetian. The nature of this region is so beautiful and mythical that I will definitely visit here, in my homeland - after all, my ancestors are buried in these crypt houses and it will be amazing to see them centuries later...

The painting is part of a large modular painting consisting of 16 canvases, each measuring 30x30 cm. 16 works represent the 4 elements of the earth. The first level of 4 paintings is air. The second level is water. The third level is earth. The fourth level is fire. The idea of the modular painting is to visually represent the places of power in Russia and admire their beauty and grandeur. All 16 paintings are sections of a harmonious artistic ensemble, created in a single style, which, carrying the energy of places of power, improves the owner’s living space. All works are made using silver leaf and a silver marker. Silver is a healing element that, in combination with the energy of a place of power, enhances the therapeutic effect of viewing.
