Biography
Bakhtiyarov Arthur Evgenievich (b. 1986) is an easel painter, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (in 2014–2020, workshop under the guidance of Prof. V.S. Pesikov), an active participant in exhibitions of contemporary academic art. Previously, A. Bakhtiyarov graduated from the Yekaterinburg Art College. A. Bakhtiyarov participated in the exhibition "Monsters in Art", organized by the M. Shemyakin Foundation. In the year of his graduation from the college, A. Bakhtiyarov brightly declared himself at the All-Russian exhibition of student works "For Friends", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War (2014, Gallery of Modern Art, Yekaterinburg). Bakhtiyarov presented the painting "After the Battle" (2014) and received a diploma of II degree for it. This and other paintings were selected by the jury for the exhibition of the same name in Moscow, which was attended by seven art schools from different cities of the country (2014, Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Tverskoy Boulevard).
In the summer of 2020, A. Bakhtiyarov presents his thesis "Buffoons". For this picture, the artist received an "excellent" rating. The work has been in temporary storage in the museum's funds since 2021. In 2020, A. Bakhtiyarov exhibited two of his works at the exhibition of academic artists "Here lies the classic" in the mansion, the newest art space Villa Vitali. The painting "Man in a Bearskin" (2019) was demonstrated by the author during the defense of his thesis.
In May 2021, A. Bakhtiyarov participated in the exhibition "SKAZ" (Youth Center "Square" at the Stieglitz Academy, St. Petersburg), which was dedicated to the dramatic events of ancient and modern Russian history. The exhibition was attended by artists of various generations. Bakhtiyarov's work was exhibited with that of such famous authors as: Ilya Kreydun, Arseniy Baghdasaryan, Dmitry Kotlyarov and others.
Especially for this exhibition, A. Bakhtiyarov created a painting on the theme of Peter's reforms: the scene of the parade in honor of the capture of the Noteburg fortress in 1702. Together with these works, the artist showed the work "Wolves" (2021), depicting a scene from everyday life in the 1990s. In the same year, A. Bakhtiyarov takes part in the exhibition "Alexander Nevsky - Defender of the Russian Land" in the Holy Spirit Center of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
In January 2022, at the exhibition "Forms of Winter" in one of the city libraries, the artist presented several paintings closely related to the theme and motives of his thesis. In addition, in 2022 the artist took part in two exhibitions in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists: “Youth of St. Petersburg” and “Spring-2022”. He took part in exhibitions of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia: "Molodezhka-2022" and "Spring Graphics-2023".
The diploma work of A. Bakhtiyarov "Buffoons" supplements the section of genre painting in the collection of the NIM RAH, along with the works: "Cabbage" (1909) N. Feshin, "Peddler" (beginning of the twentieth century) A. Mochalova, "Trinity Day" (1907 ) E. Kiseleva.
At the moment, A. Bakhtiyarov is engaged in portrait painting, paints pictures on mythological and symbolism subjects. The historical theme is still interesting to the artist. A. Bakhtiyarov lives and works in Yekaterinburg, teaches drawing and anatomy at the Yekaterinburg Art College. Shadra.
The artist's works are in foreign museum collections (California Museum, USA; Kapilosus Museum, Greece), private Russian and foreign collections in the USA (Paulscottgallery), China, and Finland.
