What is drawing? Its the ability to break through the iron wall that stands between what you feel and what you can do."
Vincent Van Gogh
It would seem such a simple job, but I went to it for so long to express everything in this simplicity. With some paintings it is very difficult, long, painful, but with them it turns out some kind of special connection. The third one is on my way. I hope it wont be the last one. Even if my canvases dont look like something generally accepted, not everyone will hang such a thing in the living room. But...I dont want it any other way.
Inspired by the song Weight of the World by the British band Hurts. About trying to cope with this world.
I wanted to show some kind of deep enclosed space. I dont know what I will find deep inside... (a line from the song). A well, a cellar, or a pit came to mind. And make sure to immerse the viewer in the center. Therefore, the edges are dark, the second square is lighter and the figure is even lighter. Which is also the center of the composition. The squares seem to put pressure on the hero, that is, just the same heaviness of the world is coming from all sides. The pose is very closed, very uncomfortable, very painful. Like a plea for help to free him. The pose is like a broken line and at the same time like a bundle of energy. Dont let me bear this weight alone... (a line from the song).
