In Egypt, the heron is a symbol of the morning (rising) The sun and is revered as the creator of light. Therefore, it is believed that the heron is a prototype of the Bennu bird (an analogue of the Phoenix), a symbol of rebirth, the return of Osiris and (like the bird of the Nile flood) the renewal of life. When the Nile floods, the heron leaves the river and flies over the fields. Among the Egyptians, in addition, the heron is the first creature that transforms the soul after death.
