Crimea. Bakhchysarai.
Staroselye (Salachik) is a historic neighborhood, surrounded by picturesque mountains with bizarre rock formations and steep cliffs, in the easternmost part of the city of Bakhchysarai (Republic of Crimea, Russia). The three gorges — Qanli Dere, Biyuk Ashlama Dere, and Kichik Ashlama Dere — come together here. It is also the place where one starts on one’s path up to the Holy Dormition cave monastery, the ancient Karaite cave town of Chufut-Kale as well as the historic archaeological site “Salachiq”.
