Biography

My name is Olga Kovalenko, I am a watercolor artist, born and raised in Vladivostok (Russia).
I am an economist by education, but I have been in love with painting and drawing since early childhood. Throughout my life, I tried different art materials, until in 2019 discovered the diversity and magic of the watercolor world.
In my work, I combine different watercolor techniques and actions, allowing the color to freely create its own world on the paper sheet. The main source of my inspiratin and genre of painting is natural and urban landscape.
I like to observe the state of the sky, capture the nuances of light and convey my impressions on paper, trying to get closer to the perfect beauty of the surrounding world. My main task, as an artist, is to teach the viewer to see beauty and magic in familiar things: sunrise or sunset, the change of seasons, how the sunlight plays through the crowns of trees, the quirkiness and beauty of the forms the urban and natural landscape.
I am an active member of the Union of Watercolorists of Russia, my artworks are in private collections in Russia and abroad, I constantly participate in art exhibitions.
