Elements of Dymkovo Painting

The work "Elements of Dymkovo Painting" was conceived as part of a series about Russian masters of ancient crafts. I really like the revival of this almost forgotten art form, and the publics interest in it has revived it. It seems to have breathed new life into the craftsmanship, the artists, and the pieces themselves. So, I conceived a whole series of works on this theme. However, the series hasnt yet come to fruition. However, I have several individual pieces.

The idea was for the background to feature various elements of Dymkovo painting. I made many different sketches. They were all very beautiful, but they seemed to distract from the main character. This piece sat in my studio for a long time in a stack of unfinished works. But eventually, I painted the entire background, and I like it better this way. I love the main character in this work—the artist who creates all these patterns. And he himself, like a brightly painted doll.
