Landscape with Two Figures

This oil painting on canvas is from the Landscapes series. It measures 25 x 35 cm and has a 2 cm stretcher bar with painted edges. It does not require framing. The reverse side has hangers, making it ready for immediate display. It comes with a certificate from the local authority.

I created sketches for this work back in 2023, when I was painting en plein air at the ancient Zubov-Buturlin Estate in the fall. I recently came across a horizontal sketch, and I thought, why not paint it vertically and make it a little larger? Along the way, I added the figures of two women walking home on an autumn evening.

The Landscapes series depicts the tranquility of Russian village life and the beauty of sunrises and sunsets that we can only experience in the countryside.
