Biography
Talanova Lyudmila Nikolaevna
Born in 1973, Kovdor, Murmansk region.
Yuma Talan is the creative pseudonym of Lyudmila Talanova, a modern hyperrealist and self–taught artist from St. Petersburg.
Yuma took her first steps towards art at a children's art school. However, she chose a different profession, but continued to paint portraits for friends, decorate museum exhibits, paint walls, create illustrations for scientific books by teachers.
After a while, the artist accepted herself and returned to her work. She writes in the style of hyperrealism. Yuma likes to explore details, textures and materials. But the exact reflection of the image in the painting is not finished if there is no story or myth. It is interesting for the author to capture a moment that has a beginning and a continuation. She gives her works the opportunity to be psychologists: paintings ask questions to the viewer, they encourage them to act or make them think. The girl embodies in the paintings her desire to explore the planet, to travel, to meet people.
When working with acrylic, the artist observes how on thin layers different colors begin to interact, argue and negotiate with each other, then volume and life appear in minor details, a multifaceted and incomprehensible life.
Yuma is currently painting for private collections.
Participates in charity murals of children's institutions.
