Biography

My name is Margarita Drevs. I was born in 1987 in the family of a military officer in Ukraine. I spent early childhood in Germany, then lived in Russia and Armenia.
I found myself in Armenia when I was 12 years old. In this period I became interested in drawing and started to visit the studio. After graduating from high school I leaved the studio and studied for a year with a teacher of The Yerevan Art College of Academic Painting and Drawing to enter an art university, but for personal reasons in 2005 I entered the Faculty of Philology.

In 2012, I graduated from photography courses in the photo studio of the famous photographer Anna Repina in our city. At first, I cooperated with newspapers and business portals, took portraits and reports. Later I worked as a photographer in entertainment institutions. In 2014 I began teaching "Basics of Photography" in Anna Repina's studio. Thanks to photography, I began to look at the world again through the eyes of the artist, and once in a creative environment, perked up and again began to paint.

Today painting is my main activity. My paintings are in private collections in Russia, Germany, Italy, Israel, USA. The plots of my paintings are simple and every day. I strive to show the beauty of the most mundane things. I like to repeat that the game of light in the folds of a plastic bag is no less beautiful than the solemn beauty of the sunset. I believe that the ability to see the non-obvious beauty of simple things incredibly enriches our lives and gives us daily impressions.
