The great artists of the past have left us an invaluable legacy, which we study and admire. Modern authors ask themselves the question: is it necessary to copy the works of masters? The answer is simple, it is necessary to copy and not only for amateurs and beginners of painting. Copying the masters of the past accelerates the development of the artist. Mastering techniques, styles, and materials allows you to rethink the way reality is displayed on canvas every time. A deep study of the image brings us closer to the author and immerses us in the atmosphere in which the genius created! It is very important to note that the conversation is not about detailed copying, with the application of an auxiliary grid on the canvas, but about a free copy, when you are experiencing a moment of creativity with the author, as if discussing with him, the clothes and hairstyles of the characters in your paintings. Yes, this work will not be an absolute copy of the great master, but the spirit of the times and people, objects or landscapes of the past will enter your life. The canvases of great masters will be in your hands. It is you who choose which painting to copy, so you are guaranteed to like the result. This is my personal assumption, but it seems to me that a certain movement of the brush on the canvas creates a certain harmony that affects a person. And the stronger the author, the greater this influence. There is something about the paintings of geniuses that makes us change. By copying the works, you will be able to keep at least some of this magic in yourself. And the size of this particle, or in other words, this flow of energy, from your painting now, will depend only on your diligence, skill and talent. Magic happens precisely at the moment of making a copy, and not just contemplating the work. I think that owning the original and studying it daily is most likely possible to achieve a similar result, but not every lover of painting can afford to own his favorite paintings by such authors as Caravaggio, Velasquez, Rubens, Titian, Repin, and other geniuses. Therefore, I think it is necessary to copy! Creative success to you, friends!
