Vernazza

This is one of the villages of the famous group, the Cinque Terre (Five Lands).
This part of the Italian Riviera presents a succession of delightful landscapes that are impossible not to paint.
Brightly coloured houses, closely clustered on a narrow patch of land, surrounded by the azure sea, are flanked by hills covered with southern vegetation.
It is very hot. The journey along the trail took over two hours. Ahead was the descent to the village and a chance to quench our thirst at one of the restaurants.
The artist expressed the anticipation that this view gives after a hard journey.
