Wheat and lavender. Provence

While travelling through Provence, we stopped at the edge of a field.
Two completely different crops, wheat and lavender, at first glance create a contrast with their colours and texture.
But a little later comes a sense of harmony from this combination of two important products of the Provence land.
The section of the field in the foreground, where the lavender has already been harvested, demonstrates the close interweaving of the colours separated in the middle of the painting.
The outline of the mountains in the distance adds to the almost idyllic mood.
The painting can be hung on the wall without a frame, the image goes on the ends.
