Sevanavank is a monastery on the North-West coast of lake Sevan, Gegharkunik province, Armenia. The complex of buildings is located on the Peninsula of the same name Sevan, which was previously a small island. Until the IX century the monastery consisted of two churches: the small Church of St. Karapet and spacious three-nave Church of St. Harutyun (Church of the ascension), built on the site of a pagan temple in 305 by Grigor Lusavorich.
