In August 2023, I witnessed a large fire on the slope of the Markotkh ridge near Gelendzhik. I was struck by the impulse with which a large number of city residents rushed to fight the elements. They carried as much water as they could and on whatever they had. Of course, the elements were curbed by fire brigades and firefighting aircraft, but the desire of the city residents to help made me feel proud of my fellow citizens. And I decided to paint a series of landscapes of the Caucasus in honor of the multinational family of peoples inhabiting these places. This is how you should love your homeland!
