Iris means "rainbow" in Greek.
Probably, many of us remember the myth of Prometheus. When he stole the heavenly fire from the Olympian gods and took it to people, the earth immediately lit up with a seven-color rainbow, symbolizing all the joy of living beings. The rainbow burned and burned, giving people hope, the sun had already set, but it was still glowing. But then the morning came, the sun again illuminated the earth. And in the place where the rainbow pleased the eyes of people, irises bloomed.
They are so different. But for me, iris is quite difficult to write. This time I wanted to try something new for me. And it is this work that is quite decorative, since the background for the flower was an oil coating (maimeri oil paint) of a rich golden color.
Photo colors may differ slightly from the original.
The picture is painted on canvas pasted on cardboard.
