Grandma's yard

The artist painted this life study in 1995 while studying at the Moscow Academic Art Liceum near the home of his grandmother, Alexandra Ivanovna, and great-grandmother in Petushki, Vladimir Oblast. He chose a motif featuring a dead tree, flowers, and a roof fragment. Among the artists early works, this is one of the most successful life studies of the period.
