Still Life with Lobster

In the luxurious “Still Life with Lobster”, abundant in food, the presence of a huge crayfish conventionally recalls the Resurrection. Painted on a wooden board, the response of details, sharpened elements, and meaningful little details echoes the old Dutch paintings, which were persistently and enthusiastically copied by the students of the Academy in the halls of the Hermitage, but at the same time the composition feels fresh, its own view.
