Chapel and fire station

The artist painted this life study in Vasilevo on February 23, 2025. Returning from the study near the Devils Bridge, he fell and fractured his ankle. However, he continued painting studies for several more days without knowing about the fracture. This work is a serene winter landscape showing the chapel of Archangel Michael (1760s) from the village of Maksimovskoye, Udomelsky district, and a distant Fire station shrouded in a blanket of snow. The artist uses a bright palette dominated by pure white and soft blue tones, conveying a calm atmosphere. Trees lightly dusted with snow frame the composition, creating depth and contrast with the clear, azure sky. The chapel, with its detailed texture and snow-covered roof, becomes the centerpiece, evoking a sense of warmth and privacy.
